Paladin Sports Outreach announces details for 2011 fund-raising events

by: Jason Best

2nd Annual Charity Softball Tournament and 3rd Annual Charity Dodgeball Tournament will raise money, and collect food and clothing, for local charities

The 2nd Annual Taters for Tots Charity Softball Tournament, to be held Saturday, May 14th at Riverview Sports Complex in Mesa, will raise funds for the organization's free youth baseball and softball instructional clinics in 2011.

The event will also feature a major donation drive for canned food and gently-used clothing and sporting equipment. The food and clothes will be donated to the Phoenix Homeless Shelter, while the sports equipment will be refurbished and distributed by Paladin Sports Outreach to San Tan area youth and organizations who serve local youth. Individuals who donate will be eligible for prizes.

Registration for the charity tournament is now open to 16 adult men's softball teams. The entry fee is $20 plus a donation of 10 canned foods, per player; only team registrations will be accepted. Players are encouraged to "swing for the fences" as a monetary donation will be made to Paladin Sports Outreach for every home run (tater) hit during the tournament games.

Additional details, along with online registration, are available on our website at PaladinSports.org/taters

San Tan area residents will once again dip, duck, dive, and dodge to raise money for local charity this Summer. Dodgeballapalooza 2011, Paladin Sports Outreach's annual Charity Dodgeball Tournament, will be held Friday, August 19th - Saturday, August 20th at Barney Family Sports Complex in Queen Creek.

In its third year, this unique San Tan area event continues to generate quite a buzz in the community. Paladin Sports Outreach believes that Dodgeballapalooza is a unique event with widespread appeal and the organization is committed to its long-term growth and success.

Proceeds from this charity dodgeball tournament will directly benefit the Paladin Sports Outreach Youth Scholarship Fund. This fund provides children of financially disadvantaged families the opportunity to participate in local, organized sports leagues. As with all of the organization's fund-raising events, the charity tournament will include a major donation drive for canned food and gently-used clothing and sporting equipment.

Registration to the tournament will open in March. This year's tournament will be split into three (3) divisions, adult competitive (18+), adult recreational (18+) and youth (ages 14-17).

This is a family-friendly event and will include raffles, food, & entertainment provided by Air1 / KLOVE Radio.

Additional details are available on our website at PaladinSports.org/dodgeball

Sponsors are welcome for both charity events. All proceeds are 100% tax-deductible. For as little as $250 you can be a sponsor of one of these great events! For more information please e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
